F1 | McLaren, Carlos Sainz celebrates his 100th career GP

After an excellent qualification by Carlos Sainz e Lando Norris, the race performance of the McLaren they suddenly collapsed, in Mexico, where the team failed to place in the points.

An unusual behavior on the part of MCL34, which left Sainz and Norris with a bad taste in their mouths.

Fourth place seems almost a certainty for McLaren, also given the "bureaucratic" problems of the team Renault, but the driver duo is eager to collect as many points as possible this Sunday Austin, Texas.

Il COTA, defined by the majority of the drivers on the grid as one of the best circuits on the calendar, will mark an important milestone for Carlos Sainz: the Spaniard, in fact, will take part in a Grand Prix for the 100th time formula 1, at just 25 years old.

"The United States Grand Prix is a really special event for me – said Sainz – it will be my 100th GP. Being a Formula 1 driver has always been my dream and ambition, as far back as I can remember, so to reach such a milestone at 25 is incredible, a truly significant event."

Despite the celebrations, Carlos keeps his concentration high, determined to bring the team back to the top after the disastrous Mexican result.

"After a difficult Sunday in Mexico, the whole team can't wait to get back on track in Austin. It's important to stay focused and work hard until the last race. COTA is one of the most exciting circuits on the calendar and always gives us exciting races; it's really fun to drive in the first sector with these F1s. Being able to do Turn 1 well is important to gain as much as possible in the first sector, I can't wait to get back in the car on Friday and prepare everything to be ready for qualifying and the race".

Similar feelings also for Lando Norris who, due to an unsafe release during his pit stop, found himself in a completely uphill race, until he retired.

"I just want to leave Mexico behind and focus on the next race – the English pilot confirmed – COTA is one of my favorite circuits and I have worked hard to prepare for this weekend. I already raced here with an F1 last year, in the first free practice session, so I already have a bit of confidence with the track, so I feel confident about Friday. We know that the battle for fourth place in the constructors' championship is not over yet, so we will push and give everything to solidify our position in the standings".
