F1 | McLaren, Brown: “A line-up of Hamilton and Alonso would be fantastic”

Zack Brown would have no problem forming a line-up consisting of Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton. According to the Executive Director of McLaren, Spanish would be able to withstand a dualism with English, not falling back into the same situation as 2007. The English manager admitted that he was thinking about Lewis, especially after the last phase of stalemate between the World Champion himself and Mercedes regarding the renewal, but the team's budget, combined with the performance difficulties of post-Honda, they did not allow the Woking team to place the market coup in forecast 2019.

Here are the words of Zack Brown: "There isn't a team that isn't interested in Lewis' performances, including us. He's an incredible talent and the chance to have him in the team would be fantastic. With Alonso it would have been a very talented couple and we would have had no problem putting them together. Fernando is an open person and would have the ability to deal with anyone. The problem, however, as pointed out by Brown they are performance and budget lower than Ferrari, Mercedes and Renault: “On an economic level we cannot compete with those who are currently in front and furthermore we do not reward ourselves for our performances. The only thing we can do is to push competitiveness, becoming the team with the greatest development compared to 2017. Renault is confident in its product and we know which path to follow for the car. There are no alarm bells for 2018."
