F1 | McLaren, Brown specifies: "Our future is not linked to Alonso's choices"

In an interview with the Indy Star network, Zack Brown spoke about the line-up situation at McLaren, underlining how the next moves will absolutely not be linked to the decisions Fernando Alonso will make. The English team, in fact, wants to build a solid foundation for its future and will do so regardless of the presence of the Spaniard in 2019. Regarding IndyCar, however, the American manager preferred not to go too far, revealing that in Woking there are much more serious issues urgent to resolve.

Here are the words of Zack Brawn: “He certainly likes the series, but he hasn't made a decision regarding Formula 1 yet. And in any case our moves don't depend exclusively on what Fernando wants to do in 2019.”

On the deadline imposed by Andretti he added: “It is certainly important to make a decision as soon as possible. At the moment we are focused on Formula 1 as we need to resolve the line-up issue and introduce a new Technical Director to the team. We still have time for IndyCar."
