F1 | McLaren, Brown: “New infrastructure ready for the 2025 car”

La McLaren his aim is not only to regain the fourth place in the world taken from him by Alpine at the end of last season, but he thinks big and wants to return to success after dark and difficult years. Zak Brown, managing director of the Woking team, declared that the new infrastructure, so we are talking about the wind tunnel and simulator, will only be ready in mid-2024, and this means that that season will also be more or less negatively affected. We are therefore focusing everything on 2025, the last year as regards this regulation before the entry of the new simpler and more eco-sustainable power units.

“The new simulator and wind tunnel will start to impact our 2024 car, as it will be running from the middle of that season – Brown said at Speedcafe's KTM Summer Grill. We will therefore have the real impact on the 2025 car. With the drivers we are at a good point, as is our technological infrastructure, and therefore I believe that everything will start from 2024/2025. We want to close the gap with the top teams, and we have to reach two key points: in the first we need to see how far away the winning car is, and if it doesn't be Mercedes, then the second will be to see how close we will be to them, fitting their engine. These are the objectives if we want to be more competitive already in 2023. We want to return to at least fourth place in the constructors' championship, but we need time to aim for the top three."
