F1 | McLaren, Brown: “Long-term partnership with Renault”

The one between McLaren e Renault it will be a long-term partnership. Zak Brown, executive director of the Woking team, is convinced that the French company will power McLaren beyond 2020, the year the contract expires. “Ours is not a short-term solution” – Brown began. “No one yet knows the engine rules for 2021, so I think it's difficult for anyone to start thinking beyond 2020, because we still don't know anything. Ours is a long-term partnership. Renault has a great history in the sport, it has won many championships with Red Bull and many more on its own, so we are very happy to collaborate with them. I think we will be very competitive together".

The official announcement of the three-year collaboration between McLaren and Renault was made during the last weekend of Singapore. For the two glorious stables it is one first time ever: in its 40 years of activity in Formula 1, in fact, Renault had never before supplied engines to McLaren.
