F1 | Mazepin denies rumors about the purchase of Williams
"Uralkali did not hold negotiations"
di Jessica CortellazziApril 18, 2019
Yesterday we announced that the main shareholder of the Russian chemical conglomerate Uralkali, Dmitry Mazepin, seemed to be very close to purchasing the English team.
If the thing goes through, as already happened at Racing Point with Lance Stroll, Mazepin's son, Nikita, who now competes in Formula 2, could thus find a seat for 2020.
A spokesperson for the Russian shareholder, however, denied the rumours:
“The information that appeared in the media is not true. Uralkali has not held any negotiations regarding the purchase of the Williams team.”
