F1 | Mazepin does not lose hope: “My goal is to return to Formula 1”
“There is a desire to continue competing in motorsport,” said the Russian
Nikita Mazepin does not give up on his dream: that of returning to racing in Formula 1. The Russian, who played in the Circus at the wheel of Haas and who was fired last March due to the outbreak of the war between Russia and Ukraine, has discussed the experiences gained in recent months where he tried his hand at a rally competition called Silk way winning on his debut.
"I did it with pleasure and fortunately the pleasure led to victory – Mazepin told the Tass news agency – But I don't see myself as a professional rally driver. I believe I have a certain social mission that I am engaged in and I am very pleased (Mazepin refers to his support for athletes like him who have been removed for political reasons, ed.)”
Mazepin then added: “Next year I will also compete for myself in a new discipline outside our country, but so far there are no signatures. So I can't talk about it yet. There is a desire, obviously, to continue competing in motorsport. My goal is to return to Formula 1, this is the direction I will work in".
