F1 | Massa on Kubica: “If he races he will have problems”

The Brazilian driver questioned the potential of Paul di Resta e Robert Kubica, both candidates for the open seat at Williams.

Felipe Massa he reiterated that he wanted to remain with the English team for the 2018 season and on the tests that the Pole carried out last week, he expressed his doubts regarding physical resistance:

“I have no idea how he's driving, I wouldn't be able to do what he does, drive with one hand. For me it is impossible to think that he will not suffer for a few races with these cars that require greater physical effort. I respect what he does because it's fantastic but you can't believe he won't have problems.".

In addition to this, Massa added that he does not see Paul Di Resta as a good choice for the team as, in his opinion, the last record set by the Scotsman in Germany with the DTM, was not convincing. After leaving Force India in 2013, Di Resta has never shone in the DTM championship, finishing fifteenth, eighth, fifth and eleventh in recent years.

“I don't think he's the right driver -said the Brazilian- to develop the car and make results. Plus, I don't think he's doing much where he's racing now. I'm not here to complain, I'm just saying my opinion."

Massa admitted he knew what to do to help the team decide:

“I'm pretty confident that people know what's best for the team. But sometimes in Formula 1 talent is not enough. I did more than I expected, if it has to end it's because it has to go like this, otherwise if it doesn't end it's because there's still something left to give. I am relaxed about my future; the time to be disappointed has already passed in my career”.
