F1 | Massa: “I will always be a Ferrari fan”

The former driver of the Italian team, reflecting on the start of the season, admitted that the team's success Maranello surprised him and hopes that the fight with the Mercedes can continue.

Interviewed by Autosport, Felipe Massa he expressed his point of view thus:

“To tell you the truth, I didn't expect it. I expected Mercedes to be way ahead of Ferrari, and I think even Red Bull could beat them. What we saw in the first races was fantastic for the sport because we didn't see a single winning team. I'm happy that Ferrari started well. In the Maranello team they have made several changes in the last two years and many thought they were behind. However, they have shown that they have a great group that knows how to work very well. This makes me happy because I will always be a Ferrari fan.".

Obviously, an opinion on the current situation at home could not be missing Williams who have faced a tough start to the 2018 season and are the only team who have not yet scored a point after the first three games. Massa, who retired from F1 at the end of last season, believes Williams' difficulties can be traced to the fact that they lack the money that big manufacturer teams have, thus pushing to manage the inexperienced but well-backed pair of Lance stroll e Sergey sirotkin:

“It's true that the team was suffering from the financial situation and I think they made their decisions for 2018 putting money first. But this is not enough to make a competitive championship. All I can say is that I walked out with my head held high. I have a good relationship with everyone at Grove and I hope that the best for the team happens as soon as possible. But I can add that I'm happy I made my decision last year.", concluded Massa.
