F1 | Massa, Kubica and Di Resta in the running for a seat in Williams in 2018
Stroll will remain: Palmer, Ericsson and Wehrlein options to be excluded
In recent weeks the Williams will decree the driver line-up for 2018. According to what is reported Motorsport, the position of Lance stroll should not be in question: the 18-year-old Canadian, after a difficult start to the season, has shown encouraging progress, which has secured his seat for next year. The situation of Felipe Massa, however, is much more shaky: over the 36-year-old Brazilian, in fact, for a few weeks the shadow of Robert Kubica who, after joining Renault Sainz, he abdicated the option of a return with the French team. The Pole's physical condition, however, could hinder the negotiation. The last credible option would be to Paul DiResta, third Williams driver, who this year replaced Felipe Massa in Hungary with some success.
The nominations of Jolyon Palmer e Marcus Ericsson, in light of the poor results obtained this year, will not be taken into consideration by the English company. Different story for pascal wehrlein, who instead would not be part of Williams' plans due to his young age: the sponsor Martini, in fact, foresees the hiring of at least one over 25.
