Interviewed by Servus TV, Helmut Marko vigorously defended the work of the Red Bull Junior Academy, underlining how Sergio Perez's arrival in Milton Keynes is not a failure for the Austrian team's youth program. According to Dietrich Mateschitz's right-hand man, Red Bull can count among its ranks several interesting and extremely fast youngsters, including Yuki Tsunoda, Pierre Gasly and Jean Daruvala, an aspect that keeps everything in question regarding the line-up that it will be deployed in the 2022 season.

“It is not easy to guarantee a continuous influx of talent to Formula 1,” said Helmut Marko. “However, we must consider that many people we discovered continue to race in other categories. They continue to do what they love to do, so it's not all bad. The others would certainly be satisfied if their "talents" had records like those we have achieved over the last three years."

“We have several options on the table, Perez included, and there is always the possibility for one of our young players to join Red Bull in 2022,” he continued. “With Yuki we brought a Japanese man back to Formula 1 after a long time and he has all it takes to do well. Among our ranks there are also other profiles who can quickly climb the hierarchies. We'll see what happens next year."
