F1 | Marko: “Red Bull could have an advantage in Mexico or Brazil”

Helmut Marko looks at the last seven rounds of this 2021 Formula 1 world championship with moderate optimism.

Interviewed by the press at the end of the latest Russian Grand Prix, Dietrich Mateschitz's right-hand man expressed his assessment of the world championship challenge between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, specifying how the latter could enjoy a small advantage in the next month and a half, especially in “high altitude” races such as Mexico and Brazil. The technical characteristics of the RB16B, in fact, should marry well with the rarefied air and the racing conditions offered by the two trips to South America.

“Lewis Hamilton is a strong and worthy opponent for the world title, but in the next races we could have a small advantage in terms of performance, especially in high-altitude races like Mexico or Brazil,” said the Austrian from Red Bull. “We have to win again. We feel strong and ready to attack again."
