F1 | Marko promotes the Super Formula championship: “Good training ground for Formula 1”

Speaking to the newspaper Speed ​​Week, Adrian Newey revealed the plans regarding the careers of Dan Ticktum and Lucas Auer, young Red Bull talents, underlining how both will be sent to Super Formula in 2019.

The Japanese category, in fact, was greatly appreciated by the Austrian Manager, especially after the experience gained by Pierre Gasly, which is why it is a path that the Red Bull Junior Academy will confirm as far as its talents are concerned.

Marko, precisely in this sense, defined the Japanese series “a good training ground for Formula 1”, highlighting how the management of the compounds is extremely similar to that which occurs in the Circus.

Here are the words of Helmut Marko: “We were very impressed by Pierre Gasly's performances in Super Formula and for this reason we are planning the arrival of other drivers in that category. The cars are very fast and getting the most out of the tires is not at all easy, a bit like what happens in Formula 1. It's a good training ground."

On the future of Dan Ticktum and Lucas Auer he added: “They will both race in Super Formula. Auer needs more points regarding licensing, which is why he needs to take on more championships."

It should be noted that Red Bull will also support the career of Harrison Newey, son of the great Adrian, in Super Formula.
