F1 | Magnussen: “Haas is the right environment for a driver”

Kevin Magnussen he rediscovered himself and his motivation thanks to his new experience at Haas. After difficult years first at McLaren and then at Renault, the Danish driver seems to have found the right environment to be able to express his full potential.

This new serenity has turned into rather positive results, with five points scored in seven races and a single-seater with good potential for growth.

" Haas it's the right environment for a driver, at least in my experience – he told Autosport – compared to my previous experiences where I was in bigger teams and when you're in big teams fighting the pressure is really enormous”.

“When I arrived at McLaren with little experience, the pressure was immense. Today, however, I feel much less pressure but with really high motivation. It's a happy place to be. I would like to be under pressure, but only if I have to fight for pole and victory. In F1, when there is this intense pressure someone has to be blamed and it is easy for the blame to fall on the driver. Sometimes it's right to be blamed, but not always, certain situations are really complicated."

A pressure almost completely canceled out by the serenity of the team, with Magnussen who, at least for now, does not seem to suffer even from the good performances of his teammate, Romain Grosjean.

“I'm very happy to have a strong teammate to compete against. He is someone who even if you beat him he always behaves well and that's something I really appreciate. Your teammate is the best opponent to compete against and you need to have someone who has a renowned talent, otherwise it's difficult for you to shine too."
