F1 | Liberty wants to study aerodynamics independently

For the teams participating in the F1 World Championship, studying the aerodynamic flows around the cars is a fundamental part of the development work, as well as an important portion of resource investments. But now beyond the teams too the Circus organization itself will equip itself with the necessary structures to carry out such studies.

Liberty Medium in fact, he wants to have a precise idea of ​​the aerodynamic functioning of the cars before determining the new 2021 technical regulations. And to do so he wants make yourself independent from the indications provided by the technicians of the teams participating in the World Championship.

For this purpose, Liberty purchased the model built by Manor intended for aerodynamic testing, and is now looking for a wind tunnel to make it work. Candidates for this purpose are wind tunnels Clean, Williams e Toyota. The idea is to have completely independent data to avoid recreating situations like that of 2009.

In addition to Symonds, in this project they will also work Ross Brawn, one of the leading figures in F1 management after the advent of Liberty, and the former Ferrari designer Nicholas Tombazis.
