F1 | Liberty Media remains in its position: Formula 1 is not for sale

Over the winter there had been several rumors about a possible sale of the formula 1 by Liberty Medium to the Saudi market. A figure has also been insistently circulated, which would be around 20 billion dollars, a price that according to the president and executive director Greg maffei it would not even be taken into consideration by the current leaders of the American company at the head of the Circus. In fact, currently, as reiterated several times, Formula 1 is not for sale, and the Arabs have never come close to these assessments, remaining as important partners for this sport, but nothing more.

“I have already said this publicly – Maffei stated firmly on the Walker Webcast. The Saudis have been our partners for a couple of situations, there is a race there and Aramco is a sponsor, but they have never approached us. Frankly, 20 billion would not be an attractive price, I would ask for much more, but we are very optimistic about the future. We are a C-Corp, so if we were to sell a division, we would pay for cups at the corporate level. The way we're structured today, given that tax base, we wouldn't be sellers. If we wanted to give in, or even just consider it, other evaluations would have to be made."
