F1 | Former McLaren team manager Ramirez: “There is no longer passion in the team”

THEformer McLaren team manager Jo Ramirez he thinks that "passion" is the thing that is "missing" in the Woking team today, to do well and return to the great successes of the past. On Spanish radio Cadena Cope, in fact, the Mexican declared: “Unfortunately, McLaren is in a very delicate situation, because there is a lot of politics now in that team”.

Ramirez then continued: “Everyone is working hard, but there isn't the passion that was there before, because all the new changes have been linked to choices made by Ron Dennis”. But the Mexican, confident, said that all is not lost: “In January or February we will see if the new management has been able to revive this great name, because for those who were there before it is a shame to see themselves destroyed”, Ramirez said.

What's really missing from this one McLaren? “There is a lack of great people in design, but they have finally understood what they need to do. 2017 should be the turning point year, and if Fernando (Alonso) leaves, I think he will regret it. He made a couple of wrong decisions at the wrong time and suffered for it, we'll see now. Hopefully", Ramirez added.
