In the Styrian Grand Prix Ferrari will attempt a prompt redemption after the disappointing tests at Paul Ricard, where both cars failed to score in the points. In France the SF21 suffered sudden tire wear with both drivers unable to do anything but accept the sporting result. Discussing the two-stop strategy, Charles Leclerc admitted that it was the only solution to try something different given the problems suffered by the car.

"This is the main reason we made a second stop, basically, to try something different – said Leclerc, quoted by GPFans – We would have missed the moment if we hadn't stopped once more, so it was ideal for the race to be able to learn something. I tried a different approach and not much changed. There's not much we can do now, but obviously we can always do better as drivers and we are doing some tests to try to improve the way we manage the tyres. I felt helpless there".
