F1 – The new rules for 2017 will be defined by the end of the month

Formula 1 officials have decided to finalize the technical regulations for 2017 by February 29th after yesterday's meeting in Milan. Pirelli has invited F1 leaders to its headquarters to resolve problems relating to the 2017 rules.

Present at the meeting were Bernie Ecclestone, FIA president Jean Todt and Ferrari president Sergio Marchionne. There were also several drivers present, including Sebastian Vettel, Felipe Massa, Valtteri Bottas and Nico Rosberg.

On the agenda were decisions regarding the 2017 tyres, with the riders asking for tires with which they could push more to the limit and characterized by less degradation.

Pirelli asked for more tests and the discussion was very constructive and although a final result was not reached, there is at least the promise of defining the rules by the end of the month. In fact, the obligation to approve the rules unanimously will come into effect from March 23st. The technical directors will meet again soon, another meeting of the Strategy Group and the F1 Commission is scheduled for XNUMX February.
