F1 | Lando Norris on track at Le Castellet for the Pirelli tests
The Englishman is testing the new wet tyres
Busy weeks for Lando Norris. The 18-year-old from McLaren, made official by the Woking team as the starting driver for 2019, is in Le Castellet to test the Pirelli Rain tires in a two-day (5 and 6 September) full immersion with the English car. Norris boarded the McLaren in both the Spa and Monza FP1s, and on the Brianza circuit he also had the opportunity to run on wet tyres. The Englishman from Bristol will make his debut in Formula 1 as an official driver next year and is in full battle to win the Formula 2 championship. For Norris, two days of important tests to find even more confidence with McLaren and a team of this caliber. Obviously important days also for Pirelli in view of the tires to be used in 2019. After Singapore, Ferrari and Mercedes will also have two days available at Le Castellet, but in that case slick tires will be used, again in view of the next Formula 1 season.
