F1: Mobile rear wing will not be banned in Monaco

The FIA has decided not to impose a ban on the use of the movable rear wing at the Monaco F1 GP. Several drivers, concerned about safety due to the difficult nature of the track and the risk of accidents, had called for a ban on the use of the DRS system in Monte Carlo.

However, not all teams supported the idea and defined the use of DRS as "safe" in Monaco too. Furthermore, a possible ban on the device would have forced teams to develop expensive alternative mobile wings for the high-downforce track.

Charlie Whiting, technical delegate of the FIA, then informed the teams that the rear moving wing will not be banned.
