F1 | Mercedes currently has no intention of signing the Concorde Agreement

Politics in Formula 1 has always been at the center of numerous discussions, especially in the periods immediately preceding the signing of the Concorde Agreement, the commercial agreement that unites all the teams. After the lockdown period, Liberty Media is trying to redistribute the money more equitably, a solution that suits the teams, including Mercedes. There is one however: according to team principal Toto Wolff, the Anglo/German team would not have been respected in this sense precisely on the commercial rights of Formula 1.

“It's an agreement that involves 10 teams, so it's normal for everyone to have their own thoughts – Wolff said yesterday. We have made it known that Mercedes is in favor of a more equal distribution of the prize money, we agree, but we are the biggest victim from an economic point of view: Ferrari continues to have an advantageous position, while Red Bull catches up with AlphaTauri. We are the most damaged ones! Mercedes has made a great contribution to Formula 1, we have been competitive on the track and we have the driver with the most appeal in the world. The feeling is that we were not treated as we should have been. There are a lot of topics under discussion, but from our point of view we will not sign the Concordat at the moment. To find an agreement you have to ask the others if they intend to sit at a table and talk and perhaps seek compromises, but they don't seem inclined."
