More than five million euros. It is the price that Bonhams, an international auction house, expects from the auction for the McLaren MP4/8A, the single-seater with which Ayrton Senna won his sixth Monaco GP in 1993, the fifth consecutive, surpassing Graham Hill's record dating back to 1969.

The model up for auction will be chassis number 6, which saw Senna triumph, as well as in the Principality, at Interlagos (Brazil) and Donnington (European GP). In that World Championship the Brazilian also crossed the finish line first in Suzuka (Japan) and Adelaide (Australia), but the McLaren MP4/8A was "only" a mule.

The auction will be held on the occasion of the next Monaco GP, scheduled for 24 to 27 May, 25 years after Senna's last Monegasque success. The auction house RM Sotheby's will sell the suit that Senna wore in the 1987 race, the first of six won in the Principality, in that case driving the Lotus Honda.
