F1 | Force India plans extra security measures for the Brazilian Grand Prix

It's not just the technical aspects that will take center stage in the Brazilian Grand Prix which will be staged in Interlagos next weekend. After the events of last year, Force India is thinking of increasing security measures after the attacks last season, when even some Mercedes men were robbed at gunpoint. Liberty Media has ensured an increased presence of staff to ensure maximum safety, but the English team will probably take care of this on their own.

“No guarantees were provided – said Otmar Szafnauer, team principal of Force India - but we have spoken to the promoters and the local authorities, including the police, and there should be a greater presence of security personnel. They will be there at the appropriate times, the police will not leave before us, there will be a greater effort. However, we are examining some security measures: we have been lucky over the years, because nothing has happened to us, but we take this matter very seriously."
