After Sainz's farewell to Renault, Kvyat returns to Faenza

F1 | Kvyat returns to Toro Rosso starting from the US GP

The domino effect started after the announcement of Jolyon Palmer's farewell to Renault starting from the next United States Grand Prix.

An announcement that was in the air until a few weeks ago, but which then faded due to Palmer's own resistance to leaving his seat for the season finale, despite the French company having made an important financial compensation available for the resolution advance of the contract.

Carlos Sainz Jr. will therefore take the Englishman's place at Renault, anticipating his future arrival at the French company which was originally expected starting next year. This move leaves a seat free in Toro Rosso for the season finale, which will be occupied by Daniil Kvyat, who returns to the Faenza team after being dropped before Malaysia to make room for his future teammate. Pierre Gasly.

This is the comment of Franz Tost, head of Toro Rosso, on the farewell of Carlos Sainz Jr.: “I would like to thank Carlos for his commitment in these three seasons with us. He has always given his best, demonstrating an unrivaled attitude and commitment to his work, which has helped him and us achieve some good results during this time together. On behalf of Toro Rosso I wish him the best, we'll see you on the track!”
