F1 | Kvyat worried about McLaren's pace seen in Monza
"They looked strong. They concentrated more on the turns and this improved their performance. It wasn't easy"
Daniil Kvyat found it “alarming”. rhythm of McLaren seen in Italian Grand Prix. The team of Woking, in fact, it showed performances very close to those of the Toro Rosso a Monza. The Russian had an interesting fight with Stoffel vandoorne until the Belgian withdrew.
“McLaren was also faster than us. They looked strong. They focused more on cornering and this improved their performance. It wasn't easy. It's a little alarming to see that McLaren can go at our pace on this type of circuit. I think there is a lot to do and improve, we need to start working to develop the car's strong points,” Kvyat told Autosport.
According to the Russian pilot, the MCL32 it performed better than usual on the straights Monza – this was perhaps due to the car's settings – but in reality he had made the big leap in level above all on the journey in curve: “I think they were going quite fast and based on their characteristics they had focused more on cornering efficiency. For this reason I managed to stay close to him and it was more difficult for Vandoorne to stay in my slipstream, but at the Parabolica he got underneath and I was forced to close the line on every lap", concluded the Russian.
