F1 | Kimi Antonelli in Formula 2 with Prema in 2024?

According to reports, the Mercedes would like to make an important leap to Andrea Kimi Antonelli, preventing him from participating in the F3 world championship and moving directly into Formula 2, always with the team Prema. Not yet of age, Kimi participates in the Tatuus Formula Regional, and has already won three titles since racing in single-seaters, namely the ADAC Formula 4 (German), the Italian Formula 4 and the Formula Regional Middle East, formerly Formula Regional Asia.

The Anglo/German team believes that the Bolognese is ready to participate in the category closest to Formula 1, probably also because of the new single-seater which will debut next year, so that all drivers, in fact, will have to adapt to a car they have never driven until now. A strategic move certainly by Mercedes, so as to put Andrea Kimi and the other drivers on par from this point of view. According to the very detailed information received from Monza, the boy will do approx three weeks of testing with an old GP2. Crystal clear talent, the Mercedes school driver has nevertheless collected many kilometers on board single-seaters that can easily be compared to Formula 3. It is clear that the pressure and attention would multiply enormously if he were to land in the Formula 1 and Formula 2 paddocks as early as next season, but sooner or later, it was clear, it would happen, given the great skills behind the wheel of this boy from Bologna with destiny in his name.
