F1 | Jos Verstappen taken into police custody for brawling

Joseph Verstappen, father of Max and himself a former pilot, was taken into custody by the Dutch police following a brawl in a nightclub. According to local media reports, the former driver of Minardi e Benetton he would have been injured in the face before being thrown out by the nightclub staff together with the other people involved.

The Verstappens' lawyer is keen to point out that Jos did it victim of the attack, and that it was therefore his right to defend himself. According to the lawyer, Jos remained on the scene precisely because he was innocent: “he was waiting to be rescued. Why leave if you are a victim?”. However, the dynamics are not yet clear, just as it has not been confirmed that the former driver has passed a night in cell (as revealed informally by a Dutch policeman).

Max's father, however, he is not new to situations like this. The news pages often report news of the intemperate behavior of the 45-year-old Dutchman, who in the past also had fights with his father.
