F1 | Jos Verstappen: “Max's accusations are understandable”

According to the Dutch driver's father, the statements made by his son Max after the race regarding Ferrari's crisis are to be understood even if they should not have been made in that way.

“I think everyone knows there's something wrong, but you can't say it like that.”, Jos Verstappen told Ziggo Sport.

“We can't know what exactly happened, but we can see from the data that suddenly they were much slower”, added Jos.

“Previously, on the straights they won with six or seven tenths of an advantage, now it's half that. But there is no evidence to say that they cheated."

However, the young pilot's father agrees with those who have pointed the finger at his son:

“In the end, if you can't prove it, you can't even say it. It may not have been the smartest statement, but I understand Max. He is very motivated and wants to win. After the summer break, Ferrari was suddenly super fast and they were less so in Austin."
