F1 | Jacques Villeneuve: “Abu Dhabi? Shabby track”

The 2017 season closed its doors with the race held last November 26th on the Yas Marina Tour of Abu Dhabi. A race devoid of interest, shocks and interesting ideas, with Valtteri Bottas maintaining the leadership of the race without any particular problems from start to finish.

On the circuit built on the artificial island of Yas, Jacques Villeneuve expressed his point of view: “I wonder how it is possible to design such a shabby and terrible circuit”, declared the 1997 world champion a Motorsport Magazine.

"Even when a rider gives his all it is difficult for him to really enjoy the track. It's not fun to drive on this circuit at all. Ending the season there, just before the winter break, is the same as having eaten something really bad. And that's a shame, because this season, as a whole, was magnificent,” concluded Villeneuve.
