F1 | Isola: “Two stops in the race? I don't think it's the right solution"

According to the head of the Pirelli, imposing two pit stops in the race will certainly not be the right option to make the show more exciting.

About this, Mario isola, interviewed by Autosport International, he added:

“There has been a lot of talk about introducing two stops per regulation, but I'm not sure it's the right solution because there is the risk that all the cars will stop on the same lap”.

Pirelli has been under fire in the past for making races less exciting. In fact, drivers often find themselves conserving their tires and not driving at their maximum:

“We want to remain a little more cautious because if we only have to make one stop per race, then it is better to give the drivers more consistent tires so they can push harder and make the show on the track more beautiful. We have made some improvements, studying different compounds in order to reduce overheating. But overheating cannot be avoided when you follow another car and you lose a lot of downforce"

It will be interesting to see whether the new tires introduced by Pirelli will improve the competitiveness of Formula 1.
