F1 | Hamilton's thoughts on Zanardi: “He's a fighter and he will continue to fight”
“I pray for him and his family,” Lewis said
On the sidelines of Thursday's press conference, Lewis Hamilton he showed up in the interview ring, adapted to the new anti-Covid-19 protocols. To the microphones of Mara Sangiorgio on Sky Sports, the British champion of Mercedes wanted to address a thought towards Alex Zanardi, victim of a serious handbike accident two weeks ago in the streets of Siena.
“I have always been an admirer of Alex – Hamilton admitted. He has supported me a lot throughout my career: he is a true hero, in our sport and beyond. What he had to face and how he came out of it shows how he is a leader in many ways. It made me very sad to hear about his accident: then thinking about how he had to face so many other things throughout his life. But if I know Alex a little, I know that he is a fighter at heart and will continue to fight. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family."
