F1 | Mugello steps forward: “We are ready”
The words of Mayor Ignesti: "If Monza couldn't be done, it would be the ideal choice"
di Jessica Cortellazzi18 May, 2020
The Mugello circuit offers to host a race on the calendar, if the situation in Lombardy remains worrying
The Mugello Circuit is still interested in hosting the Italian Grand Prix (even though it has already been the date for Monza has been set, next September 6th, ed.).
“Mugello has everything it takes to host the Italian Grand Prix”, commented the mayor of Scarperia and San Piero, Federico Ignesti.
“In the event that the situation in Lombardy does not allow the race to take place in September, Mugello would be the ideal choice for a grand prix with empty grandstands to replace Monza. We do not yet know if we will have such an opportunity, but we are ready to find the necessary resources, even if our chance is only one in a hundred. We are already negotiating with ACI and all those in our region who are ready to give it a try."
