A large number of fans still want the Finnish champion in Formula 1

F1 | Fans launch a petition asking Ferrari to keep Raikkonen

Kimi Raikkonen is certainly one of the most loved drivers of all time. Today, perhaps second only to Lewis Hamilton, the Finnish driver has millions of fans around the world. Even in Monza the stands were more colorful with Finnish flags and caps with the Ferrari number 7. Kimi apparently will be replaced by Charles Leclerc next year at the helm of the Red team (even if the announcement is slow to arrive) and for this reason the fans have taken to the internet launching an online petition asking the Maranello team to renew the Raikkonen's contract, never so far from renewal as in these days. There are already tens of thousands of signatures online, for a petition also addressed to Maurizio Arrivabene (perhaps one of those who wanted to confirm Kimi, ed). It's clear that it won't be a petition that will save Raikkonen's seat, but it's nice to see how in a Formula 1 full of young people and with fewer and fewer world champions on the starting grid there are still gestures of affection towards such a driver , because Kimi is like this, like it or not, there is no middle ground, but those who were in the stands at Monza last weekend can testify without any doubt how much the Finn is truly loved by the fans, Italian and otherwise.
