Only the official information is missing, but the 2021 pre-season tests will take place on the Sakhir track from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th March as reported by the British newspaper Autosport. A logical choice given the upheavals in the calendar which have led to important changes such as the opening race of the World Championship which will not be held as usual in Australia, with the Albert Park event in Melbourne postponed to 21 November, but in Bahrain itself on March 28.

The now usual venue for the winter tests, Montmeló in Barcelona, had to give way to Sakhir with the teams that will leave with their men and ship the new single-seaters (and related spare parts) already at the beginning of March as foreseen by the regulation. A long trip that will only end at the end of the month, coinciding with the end of the Bahrain GP race weekend.

It remains to be seen whether the various teams will choose to carry out their respective filming days, the famous 100 kilometers advertised in advertising, in Bahrain or will opt for other tracks before flying to the Middle East.

The Sakhir track thus returns to host winter tests after seven years. In fact, the last time was in 2014, the first year of hybrid technology in the Circus, where the second test session was held in Bahrain after the first one took place in Jerez.
