F1 | Hulkenberg: “The new cars allow me to push harder”
The Renault driver said he was happy with his progress this season
A clear improvement, greater confidence and new cars that allow him to go fast like he hasn't done for some time. Nico Hulkenberg he said he was more than satisfied with his 2017 in which he was able to bring home 18 points more than those obtained by the team last year.
Much of the credit, according to him, is due to the new single-seaters which probably adapt more to his driving style: “They are certainly more fun and faster to drive – we read on Planet F1 – they allow me to push harder and I am much closer to my riding style than in recent years."
“You always have to challenge yourself and explore your limits you never have to push so hard and these cars help you. You can do it easily and it works, so it's definitely nice."
For the German pilot the new single-seaters they are a little difficult to ride, but not as much as many had predicted: “Everyone seems a little more nervous because in many races this year there isn't much room to make mistakes. So if something goes wrong, it goes very bad, but I didn't find it too difficult or too many changes."
