F1 | Horner on Audi's entry into the Circus: “It demonstrates the popularity of the sport”

There are still four years to go, but the Circus is starting to project itself towards 2026 when the new regulation on power units will come into force. New regulations that have already brought a new entry: Audi. The German company has in fact already announced its adherence to this new course, even if the partner with which the house of the four rings will race has not yet been made official.

Chris Horner discussed the presence of Audi in the Circus, with the Red Bull team principal expressing all his satisfaction with this entry, underlining how Formula 1 has regained its appeal and popularity.

"I think it's great that there are new manufacturers and new interest in F1 – declared Horner, quoted by Formula1.com – Audi's announcement is obviously significant, with a first class brand, and is a testament to where the sport is at, its popularity, with motorists looking to get back into F1. Of course regulations have played a key aspect and a newcomer's ability to be competitive is key to the introduction of these rules. It's great that Audi has confirmed participation and of course there are others showing interest in the future. These are exciting times for F1 and we can't wait to see them on the grid in 2026".
