In a long chat given to the English press, Christian Horner analyzed the main points of the car that will take to the track during the next championship, highlighting how the RB16-B will have many points in common with the single-seater that won two victories and a pole position in 2020.

According to the English Team Principal, the new Red Bull will change from an aerodynamic point of view, therefore aligning itself with the rules "launched" for 2021, and in the gear shift area, which will be modified compared to last year's. Small adjustments with which the Austrian team hopes to compete for the world title with Mercedes.

“Next year's car will have many things in common with the RB16,” said Christian Horner. “The chassis will remain unchanged and the same will also be true for the suspension elements. The gearbox however will undergo some changes. The new single-seater will differ in look from the previous one only with regards to the aerodynamic surfaces, the only visible elements which will undergo various modifications."

“Next season we will see the introduction of the much-discussed budget cap, so we will have to be able to do a thorough job, allocating the right amount of time and money to development,” he continued. “We believe we have compared ourselves enough with Mercedes to know what our weak points are. Therefore, by analyzing the data, I am sure that we will be able to understand which aspects to focus on most."
