F1 | Horner rules out Vettel returning to Red Bull
"We didn't expect Ferrari to be so ruthless with Seb," Horner added
In a chat given to the microphones of ServusTV, Christian Horner denied a possible negotiation between Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull, underlining how Austrian tea is working closely with Max Verstappen and Alex Albon, true revelation of Austrian Grand Prix last Sunday.
Despite the many rumors that have circulated in recent days, the Austrian team strongly believes in its drivers, an aspect which obviously excludes a possible return of the German to the team that allowed him to win his four world titles
“Sebastian Vettel needs a good environment, but it's difficult for us to help him because we didn't think he was on the market and that Ferrari would treat him this way,” Christian Horner declared to the Austrian press. “We have so many special memories with Seb. We had a great time. It would be a loss if he left F1."
“We couldn't expect Ferrari to be so ruthless as not to even offer him a renewal of his contract which expires at the end of this year. It was a surprise." he concluded
