F1 | Hamilton: “A great day, I enjoyed the race”

Lewis Hamilton completes the perfect weekend of French GP with the top step of the podium, winning his first race on French soil and taking the lead again in the general classification, 14 points ahead of Hag. This is how the British of Mercedes commented on his day.

“I'm very grateful throughout the weekend to the guys in the team, who have been with me for six years and never give up! It's a great day, I enjoyed the race, the weather was kind, and this is definitely the best French GP I've ever done."

“At the start I simply took the corner in a normal way. Seb threw Bottas out, he made a mistake, but clearly he didn't do it on purpose, these are things that can happen, probably the fact that he was behind me led to a loss of downforce. I would say there was also an error of judgment on his part, but in the end it didn't cost him much, he still finished fifth. Unfortunately for us and for Valtteri it didn't go well, we lost a lot of points today as a team."

“Each race has different dynamics and sensations: here I did some good qualifying and at the first corner there are those 400 meters when you have pole, in which you try to hold on and try to make it. I tried to stay focused, keep pushing without making mistakes, and today I can proudly say that I haven't made any. I had no hesitations and managed to bring the first tires up to the 33rd lap. I probably could have continued the whole race, because I had the pace. It was a fantastic race and winning it like this gave me a lot of inspiration."
