F1 | Hamilton: “Truly incredible result, thanks to the team”

Ninth success of the season for Lewis Hamilton who is now one step away from winning the sixth world title of his career. Thanks to Mercedes' perfect strategy, despite the Englishman's complaints, the victory arrived, the 100th for the German team.

“First of all I want to applaud this incredible audience. I think it's the most beautiful atmosphere I've ever seen. Today's result is truly incredible. I have to say a huge thank you to my team, the people here and those working at home. Here we thought we were behind the others, we held on, I had damage at the start of the race so it was tiring, I kept my head down, the second stint was long but I'm really grateful for today's race."

For two consecutive years, Hamilton won the title in Mexico, but this year the party will be postponed to the next race, in Texas:

“I don't mind, I like competing and experiencing one race at a time. This is a race that I have wanted to win for a long time, it has always been complicated for us and I am honored by the opportunity I had today. The team did a great job, we had the best strategy and keeping the Ferraris behind in the end wasn't easy but I hope you enjoyed the race."
