F1 | Hamilton, ready for a three-year contract but the signature is slow in arriving
According to the German RTL source, it will not be discussed before November
Although Lewis Hamilton is close to his seventh world title, there is still no contract signed for the future and according to German media, it will not be discussed before November. In fact, RTL denied the English sources, according to which a three-year contract is already ready.
"Never change a winning team", says a well-known proverb and the partnership between Hamilton and Mercedes is probably the most solid and constant in the history of Formula 1. In reality, negotiations for the new contract should have already started much earlier, but the crisis caused by the Covid pandemic -19 obviously put everything on the back burner. Hamilton himself said that he didn't want to talk about millionaire salaries when many people around the world were losing their jobs.
So it seems that at the moment both the Briton and the German team want to focus on the current season first and then think about the negotiations.
