F1 | Hamilton: “The abolition of party mode? We're not worried."
“We will continue to do a better job than others,” English said
Interviewed by the media during the last Spanish Grand Prix, the sixth round of this 2020 Formula 1 world championship, Lewis Hamilton he returned to the abolition of the "party mode" starting from the next round of Spa, underlining how Mercedes will be able to manage this additional variable brought into play by the FIA without any problem.
According to the Englishman, the six-time world champion team has the capabilities and skills to be able to maximize the performance of its single-seater, regardless of whether or not the most advanced mapping was present in qualifying.
“In a certain sense I understand their point of view: they simply want to see more competitive races,” said Hamilton. “However it will be interesting to see what else they do in the future. Regardless of what they decide, we are the best team and we will handle any decision as best we can, we are professionals."
“We will simply continue to do a better job than others. Whatever they do, we will manage it and bring it to the highest level. So there is no reason to be worried,” he concluded.
