F1 | Hamilton: “I thought about retiring, but now I love Formula 1 more than ever”

Lewis Hamilton, for some years now, has become much more than just a driver: a character, for better or for worse, unique in the world of Formula 1. The current leader of the World Championship, guest of the English television program "The Jonathan Ross Show”, made some reflections on his future: “When you're in Formula 1, you're in the spotlight, on top of the world: from there on it's all downhill, you don't earn the same money. For the last five or six years I've tried to work on what I enjoy outside of sport, so that when I stop I can do other things".

Hamilton also admitted that he had reflected several times on a possible farewell to the world of racing: "I've definitely thought about retiring. There were definitely times when I thought I wanted to do other things, but now I'm in the thick of the battle (with Vettel, ed.) e I love this sport more than ever. Being able to show off your skills after all the training and work you do is the best feeling you can have. As long as I can – concluded Hamilton – I'll keep running".
