F1 | Hamilton celebrates, but criticizes: "SC not necessary, just for show"

The hammer time is back, Lewis Hamilton dominated the Belgian Grand Prix conquering one victory difficult, the 58th, always with Sebastian Vettel on the heels on a track where, however, the Mercedes she was considered the favorite and she managed to prove it. The Englishman recovers 7 points at the Ferrarista and will show up in Monza with a lot of energy, like the one he continued to demonstrate even on the podium, still full of adrenaline and almost blocked by emotion: “I have to thank the public, they were fantastic throughout the weekend, and this was important for us. Really great work by the team, they did a lot of hard work and this made a huge difference", explained the Englishman on the podium interviewed by Mark Webber.

After celebrating the record of 68nd pole position on qualifying Saturday, which led him to catch up Michael Schumacher in the all-time ranking, another great emotion for Hamilton: “Seeing all these English flags here was incredible, Vettel was a strong opponent and I'm happier to have won like this,” Lewis continued.

Il number 44 he several times telling about his first time at Spa, when he was little: “There are many children here who perhaps have the same dream that I had as a child, when I arrived here in 1996 and dreamed of returning here as a pilot. Today we gave a fantastic show and I wanted to say that dreams come true, so always give everything because everything can be achieved if you want it", concluded the three-time world champion.

In the press conference as the winner, Lewis Hamilton once again sent some digs at the race direction, with the choice of Safety car on track for the accident between the two Force India di Or with e Perez: “It seemed to be in NASCAR when they put the Safety Car on the track for no reason… because the wing on the track was immediately cleaned, the SC was not needed, but evidently they wanted to see a closer race at the end and so they put it there for that, because there was barely any debris that had actually already been cleaned", he commented very angry. But the Englishman's victory was not easy, with the pressure from Ferrari still on his neck: “Even before, the Ferraris were close and I think they had an advantage in race pace throughout the weekend. They were very strong today, I turned around, I saw them, but I tried not to give a good trail to Vettel. The Safety Car was also going very slowly and gave everyone a chance to catch me up, I also struggled to get the compound up to temperature. At the restart Sebastian was close, the front tires were not yet hot, he had a good trail but I think he got too close and had to lift his foot off the accelerator, otherwise he would have passed me. In the end this was positive for me, because then he lost performance but he had a good race, always consistent and it was fun to do a race like this against him, who was at his best and with a strong car. We were just a little apart and that's the essence of racing. Luckily I kept a fast enough pace to stay ahead of him,” she concluded, commenting on the comparison with Vettel.
