F1 | Hamilton: “Clearly, we are no longer the fastest team”

After the first three races of the championship, the Englishman from Mercedes he said that they are no longer the team to beat in the fight for the world title.

After the two victories of Ferrari, it was thought that the German team would return to the top on a track that has always seen winners Lewis Hamilton, but that wasn't the case and according to the Englishman this weekend was a real disaster. It is the first time since 2014 that Mercedes has not won in one of the three opening races of the championship.

According to Hamilton, Mercedes has now also been overtaken by Red Bull in terms of competitiveness but he continues to remain positive for his fifth world championship:

“My way of thinking hasn't changed, my goals are still the same but it's clear that we are no longer the fastest team. We have lost performances from Melbourne and maybe even more so this week, we are the second or third fastest team at the moment, so we need to improve, but it's not impossible, I think what this team has shown over the years is that we are good at stick together and keep moving forward and keep working”.

Regarding his result in the race, “The Hammer” added that he does not have to apologize for the difficulties encountered, despite being aware that it is his job to find a solution:

“I prepared exactly as always, I just struggled with the car, it's not about time, strategy or anything else, it's just that I was uncomfortable in the car this weekend. YesObviously it was a common effort, but we certainly worked harder on my side.".
