On the Thursday that opens the weekend of the Portuguese Grand Prix, which will take place on the Portimão track, Haas announced the end of the professional relationship with Romain Grosjean e Kevin Magnussen at the end of this season.

The Frenchman can be considered the 'captain' driver of the American team, having raced there since 2016, the year of the debut of Gene Haas' team in the Formula One World Championship. Grosjean's best result with Haas was fourth place in the 2018 Austrian Grand Prix. The Dane, who arrived in 2017, instead achieved P5 as his best finish in the 2018 Bahrain and Austrian GPs.

"I want to thank Romain and Kevin for their hard work and commitment to Haas over the past few seasons. We have many great memories together, especially the 2018 season when we finished fifth in the table in only our third season. Romain and Kevin played a significant role in that success. Of course, there are still many races left in the 2020 season. It's been a challenging year, no doubt, but both drivers gave their all behind the wheel of the VF-20,” said Haas team principal Guenther Steiner

With Grosjean and Magnussen out, from next year Haas should almost certainly focus on the green line made up of Nikita Mazepin and Mick Schumacher, both currently involved in the Formula 2 championship in which the German son of art is playing for the title.
