F1 | Haas, Steiner: “Next year we should have better aerodynamic development”

The rise of Haas passes through a very delicate step: the improvement of the department aerodynamic. The American team, having archived its second season in the Circus, has been focusing its attention on this area for several months, so much so as to sacrifice the development of the VF-17. By virtue of this far-sighted move, Haas hopes to be able to reap substantial benefits in 2018: “We need to do more in aerodynamic development” – explained the team principal Gunther steiner. “We stopped very early and, in hindsight, one might ask me why we didn't develop this car enough. We hope to take advantage next year, since we started earlier. But we don't know yet.".

“Aerodynamically our development stopped very early, I think this is the area where we need to improve. If we improve aerodynamically – continued Steiner – the tires work better too: It's an upward spiral, not a downward spiral, so let's hope we get to that point.".

Finally, the Italian manager declared that, by virtue of the hiring of new staff, Haas should be able to count on one more gradual and consistent development"We started recruiting people last year, and now more will arrive.
