F1 | Haas, Magnussen: “We need to continue working on updates”

The American team concluded the first day of free practice with the thirteenth time of Kevin Magnussen and the sixteenth of Romain Grosjean. These are the statements from the Haas drivers:

Kevin Magnussen: “Not too bad, not too good. I think we are where we expected. We looked ok in the long runs, at least in the first stint because we didn't do much in the second. We extended the first run to try to understand something more about the soft tyre. It looked ok but could have been better. We have to continue to learn updates, analyze all the data. I hope we can get where we think we are, performance-wise.".

Romain Grosjean: “It was a pretty positive day. I was tenth in FP1 but in FP2 I didn't do a lap on the soft tires. I had some problems, I had a rear lock. I think it was a beautiful day. The pace on the long run didn't seem too bad and the car felt okay. Even today we did some aerodynamic testing, changing the front wing and things like that. We are working on some things we can do for tomorrow, but we are quite surprised."
