F1 | Haas, Magnussen against the tire topic: “He's boring”

Interviewed by the newspaper Ekstra Bladet, Kevin Magnussen returned to talk about the tire factor in Formula 1, underlining how the teams themselves are facing great difficulties in understanding this year's compounds.

Despite the great development work carried out in these first months of the season, in fact, Haas has not yet managed to squeeze the most out of the 2019 tyres, an aspect which is penalizing the US team's bid towards fourth place in the constructors' standings.

A difficult situation and not easy to resolve, given that the team, as revealed by the Danish driver himself, is unable to understand what the problem is that does not allow the VF19 to adapt to this year's compounds.

“I can't explain what our problem is,” said Kevin Magnussen. “It's too complex. We ourselves struggle to understand what doesn't work. I would say it's almost impossible to understand. During the race I spoke to my engineer about the tyres, with the latter giving me information on tire management and temperature, but it's difficult to have a clear idea on this subject."

“There are so many details at stake and in the end it's even boring to talk about it”, added the Dane. “It's super uninteresting. If I owned a Formula 1, the only thing I would do would be to work on the tires so I could focus my attention elsewhere. Now that would be super interesting."
